What is a heat pump?
Heat pumps cleverly turn free fresh air from outside into your perfect climate, inside your home. They are 4 x more efficient than a gas or oil boiler and heat your home and hot water to an ideal temperature all year round. Heat pumps are a great way of making your home more sustainable by reducing your heating costs and carbon footprint. Switching to a heat pump can help you shrink your energy bills and save up to £500 a year.
What are the benefits of a heat pump?
- Save money of your energy bills
- Eco friendly and reduce your carbon footprint
- Eligible for government grants to help with costs
- Longer lifespan than your average gas boiler
- Low maintenance
How does it work?
An air source heat pump (ASHP) offers an energy-efficient, eco-friendly solution for home heating and cooling. By extracting heat from the outside air, even in colder temperatures, an ASHP can reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels, cutting down on both carbon emissions and energy bills. It works by transferring ambient heat from the air into the home, which is then used to heat water and radiators or underfloor heating systems. Compared to conventional heating systems, ASHPs typically deliver three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity used, making them highly efficient. They’re also low maintenance, long-lasting, and versatile, offering a reliable way to maintain a comfortable indoor environment while contributing to a more sustainable future.
Get £7,500 off your heat pump
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives eligible homes a £7,500 grant to help replace your old gas or oil boiler with a clean energy heat pump. There is also 0% VAT to pay on heat pump installations so there is no better time to switch!
As part of our service, we’ll apply for the grant on your behalf and deduct it from your invoice when you switch.
The Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme is valid for heat pumps that are commissioned from April 1st 2022. To be eligible for the grant, a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) from the last 10 years, with no recommendations for cavity wall or loft insulation is required. Unfortunately new build homes are ineligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Owner and property eligibility apply. To see the full eligibility criteria and exclusions, visit the Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme website.
